one of the guys from the future came back in one of the latest episodes and gave him another ring. he said “yours seems to have gotten scorched” cuz apparently he knew clark destroyed the other one.

I think the future people’s source is Lois. One day when she and Clark are old and married, she is going to write a tell-all book that will be preserved in the historical archives. It will include all the highlights and stories from all of Clark’s friends and family (Mrs K being a primary source) and Clark is going to eventually tell Lois about the time he told her his secret and then time travelled back to keep his secret. Or the scorched ring is preserved like the rest of his “memorabilia” in the Superman museum and the Legion figures out that he may have died because he didn’t have the option of going back in time and stopping doomsday before he became a threat. Remember, Cosmic Boy’s solution was send Doomsday to the future where the Legion could defeat him.
