Most places you can drive as you please at 16. However, in some states, if you family owns a farm, you can get some sort of permit at 14. the farm town setting could explain the early driving quite simply.
haha omg i just love the opening to smallville.
i live in new zealand. i started watching smallville from the very bigining season 1 only just a month ago. i remember hwo young i was when season 1 came out. im 14 now.
where i live the show season 8. but i cant skip ahead and i have to watch season 3. but i finally fond the sight were i can watch them
since were i live. they showed smallville up till the end of season 2. how depressing
i don’t actually think it’s done in years, i recon season 1/2 hes 16 and than 3/4 17 and so on.
the only episode he says his age is when he and Lana wake up together. just because the seasons are once a year doesn’t mean they represent once a year. i’m in the Uk so i don’t know like driving laws in the Usa.
with the hair stuff, i like the idea with things from krypton that came with the spaceship
one more thing, i liked Helen! i don’t like that shes suddenly mean. lastly, people are so rude about Lana, the only thing i don’t like about is she takes all this crap from Clark.
Hes… like.. 16 in this episode… Did your “love life” work out well when you were 16? Most don’t, why should his? But.. yeah. The writers could write it that way anyway. But part of the reasons smallville is written the way it is is to show what it might have been like (assuming he was real of course) growing up superman. To see things from his eyes. To understand the reasons why he is/does the things he does.
(Although, I’m not so sure on the “16″ thing. He drives in other seasons. So does lana. That would mean in season 1 they would be 16. Assuming Kansas has typical driving laws when it comes to minors. Seasons 1~4 take place in highschool… so.. he should be 16 at this point (14~15 in season 1, 15~16 season 2, etc). Otherwise they all graduated when they were 20ish or older (16+4 “years”/seasons=20). So… that means whitney was dating a 14~15 yr old girl…. Cradle robber… LOL. When I was a kid, that would have gotten you beaten up and maybe even down).
Mabye, but it’s not dead cells.. and i don’t think smallville addresses this issue, but in other media, Supermans hair is so strong that it cannot be cut by things on earth. So it is an interesting question… left to our imagination. Gota love fiction.
Actually no.. I’ve seen a lot of “behind the scenes” stuff on smallville. A lot of this stuff is planned very far back. Example. In the first episode (Season 1 episode 6) there is an article that flashes on the screen. Which actually correlates to events that happen in season 6.
It’s not that they completely planned for 6 seasons. They seed episodes with stuff from the whole story as best they feel they should/can. And setup up “would like to dos”. Far in advanced. I believe I’ve read that they had the first 5 seasons “big events” mapped out before they started shooting.
Yeah, I think there was an episode of “the new adventures of lois and clark” where clark uses his “heat vision” to shave. But.. at least in the smallville series, he doesn’t have heat vision until season 2. And if you watch some of the episodes, his hair is different. Even during supposedly short trips his hair grows… and then gets cut again when he gets back to the farm… oh wait.. now it’s long again when he enters the house..
I dont know if it’s the same at other places but in Quebec (canada) you can drive at 16 with a temporairy permit… but i think there has to be an adult with a permenent driving licence in the car… something like that…
I’m not so sure anymore. States are doing things differently these days. But it used to be that at 16 you could drive anywhere. But you had to be off the road by midnight. You didn’t get your “real license” until you were 21 or something like that. But also at 14, you would get a permit. Which I think is what you are speaking about. It allows you to drive, but you have to have a guardian in the car. Not just an adult. But.. the laws have all changed. So.. who knows (kids?? what’s the laws like now?)
Well i don’t know if any of you realise, but a movie set doesn’t exactly work out as if they’re all driving, it’s just a moving screen behind them sitting in a car.. lol
omg!!i hate the new megavideo.it takes like 20 minutes to watch the first five minutes.ughh, plz fix it.

um…… hair is dead cells,so technically they aren’t really attached to your body anymore
yeh when his father sent him to earth….he put scissors and nail cutter and other useful things in the ship…..

Or.. it’s more likely that you aren’t getting the point of smallville.
Didn’t anybody tell you that it rude to SCREAM.

sorry… “6″ was on my mind…
“Season 1 episode 6″ should be “Season 1 Episode 1″

I like this idea. Jor-El was thinking ahead. Making sure the important things were included
