Depends on what “Actual comics” your referring too. Since the story has been rebooted and refracted many times. There are versions where lana doesn’t know.
Is that really called for? And who are you talking about? Since none of the episodes suggest that any character, main character or not, have committed the acts you suggest.
If you don’t like lana that’s fine. But seriously don’t talk out your @$$ about it. Tell us why you don’t appreciate the character. Typing stuff like you do only suggests to the rest of the world you don’t have a brain and prefer to fall in line with the masses.
Personally, I like the character in the earlier seasons. I didn’t like where they took her in Season 7 and beyond. However, it’s not that far off compared to the comics. Depending on which version of them you read of course. But one version of the super boy comics gives lana “super powers” for a while and she goes on her own adventures. Similar to what happens in season 8. Only the type and how she got the powers is different.
So if you think for a moment that “Smallville has trashed and over used this character”. That’s fine to have that opinion. Good for you. But they are taking material directly from other superman sources and yes. Having a little creative license with it. Including the “lana drama” will/won’t they stuff. That’s a common theme in multiple versions of superman comics.
My vote is people who comment stuff like this should be banned from the site. Show some intelligence.
