I believe some time after the series began, Lionel Luthor started to appear in one of the incarnations of the superman comics.

Well. I would think any modern provider would give that kind of service. I have service with a very small rural company. Meaning.. they don’t have a lot of money and probably not the most technologically updated towers (yes, i know. Some are probably rented). But good local service. I can get connections in sealed rooms enclosed in metal. Elevators etc. I’ve never once had a drop call, nor less than 3 bars. Likely it’s not your service provider. But you have a cheap phone. Well.. “cheap”.
Lana is a realistic character. She is the typical young girl. C’mon guy back me up, how many of you have ever met a girl like her? I have, I was involved with one for awhile, constantly feeling sorry for herself, switching love interests through out the week, never admitting what she feels, shes like every girl in the world, stupid.
But.. that’s the problem with your perspective. Lionel states that he has a weakness, but he doesn’t state what that is. She doesn’t know it’s kryptonite. She might suspect it is “meteor rock”, but she doesn’t KNOW that. Lionel could be talking about something far worse as far as she knows. She wants to protect him for a change. That doesn’t make her stupid.
I like the cute innocent types myself. Never mind the fact that the actress that plays Lana is thirty-two times more attractive than the one that plays Lois.
