You really do start to hate Clark honestly. The more you see him with Lana and hurting Louis the more you just start to dislike him. I really don’t know where they are going with this.
yeah u do…i would be wit her shooooot. clark think wit the other head….the one in ur pants!!
y did clark do that the f***er i dnt gt
i like this episode but one part didn’t make sense when Clark grabs Lois he super speeds back to the farm in Smallville, but when Lois was in the daily planet she was talking with the evil reporter chick. by the time clark grabs lois and gets to smallville the evil chick beats him there and put the metor rock in the tool box how the hell could she move faster than him
I think this episode is probably my favorite now.
wtf…why clark shafted louis….he didnt have to tell his secret…but coulda just talked to her about regular stuff…uber lame…and wat an idiot…leaving before finding out about davis bloome…there was no reason for him to rush off like that in mid sentence…how rude…
Okay so clark is starting to annoy me!
First he says he can’t be with Lana because he’s always lying to her about his secret, and then when she finds out, he finds more reasons to complain.
Now with Lois, he knows that she will accept his secret and he blows her off!
And its not like him and Lana will ever be together again, shes full of kryptonite.
Stupid.
Can someone tell me the soundtrack at the end when Clark sees Louis waiting for him?
Send it to my email pl0x, xcrystal.tears@hotmail.com kthankxbye
I think this episode is probably my favorite now
I dont see how Clark has much choice who he chooses! He can’t go NEAR Lana now, so he only had Lois left!!!?!?!
bit hard when shes full of stuff that makes him ill
Well, they could like have Lana find a cure, or something. (but that would be a little cheesy)
Not only would that be cheesy, that would down-right Suck. (To the Smallville Editors: PLEASE JUNK LANA. thx.) She was O.k. for a while but now its getting a little boring W Her. Shes Died, Come back to Life, got Powers, Lost Powers, Became a witch, lost the witch Powers, now she has powers again… and on and on and on….
scincerely
he cant end up with lana unless they decide to totally abandon the comics so he basically has to be with lois, i like her loads better anyways
also very lame n would ruin the superman mythology…the whole point of her being forced away liek that was to make him become superman n learnto fly n al lthat shit so that kind of thing dont happen again or well thats my guess lol
yeh by blue kryptoknight
This is not the last season. Smallville was picked up for a 9th season on Feb 24th 2009
i have been lol got all seasons 1-7 on dvd and watchign season 8 on here lol its a f****g brilliant story and show
i totally agree with you, and love the analogy
!!
Lana is the insect queen, know your comics
The only female strong enough to control Superman.
And that’s what Imra was talking about when she said Lana had her own destiny.
LOL it could turn out that Clark was just on drugs and hallucinated the whole thing!
i think even if clark takes blue kryptonite(if he finds any) he and lana cant b 2gether bec if thy do it ;P clark might get injured by lana
xD
WTF?
um….no it airs in america on MARCH 12th, so unless you have a time machine…. ^_^
second
haha! no i am second mwuhahahaha!!
why is everybody so upset about Clarks flying-thing?
big deal:P
how the hell have you seen all these episodes???????? can i lend that time machine of yours plz?ha
u people obsess about this way to much like the guy who said “SO PUMPED Clark needs to F*c* the sh*t out of lois already!” way to be a creep man
I meant Davis is trying to fight his destiny being Doomsday not brainiac, sorry.
My uncle does sound production on quite a few shows (smallville isn’t one of them). It has advantages:)
I like this season of Heros as well. Last season was a big let down to me. I love the new Sylar and his brother rocks as well, but I can’t remember where I know him from.
Clair is also rocking this season and her mom is awesome lol.
I havn’t enjoyed a season of Heroes this much since the first.
I still like smallville though. I just wish they would stop having so many episodes that don’t move the story forward.
larna…. lol
you Sound like you don’t like smallville OR you just want it to end. I like the adventures, there great.
Dude i love the show heroes. but i has gotten a little confusing, espscially last season. i was so happy that Syler got a little buddy that was like his apprentice, but then i was mad when syler left at that restaruant.
about time clark learns how to fly tbh, thats if the flying rumors are true
how do u know that?
for all we know he might just be dreaming….
u can’t really tell untill it comes out
SOOO AWSOME!!!
Ok…Major spoilers ahead:
In “Infamous” Tori Spelling is back again as Linda Lake and when Clarks secret is threatened he decides to release his story with a reporter he feels will give him a good light (as apposed to Linda’s).
This backfires because Linda ends up with a vendeta against him for stealing her thunder and does everything she can to turn the public against him.
At the end of the episode you discover that none of it actually happened and there is a link to someone you will see in a future episode that explains why.
The next episode is called “Turbulence” and it is sans Lois all together. In this episode the main story line revolves around Clarks secret becoming public (which ties into the last one a bit since Clark remembers what happened in the last episode). In this case he is stuck on a plane with Tess on the way to a press conference in New York. The plain gets damaged in turbulence and Clark has to figure out how to save the day without revealing his secret. He ends up doing so without letting Tess know his secret so again this episode is missable without much being lost. You do learn that Davis is still Davis though and has not turned completely into Doomsday at this point. There is some interaction between him and Chloe which sets things up for a future episode but it’s at the end ….so you can skip almost the entire episode and not miss anything important at all.
The next episode “Hex” involves body switching between Lois and Chloe instigated by the Sorceress Zattana. This is a funny episode but again doesn’t really make the story move forward. Still watching Erica Durance act like chloe in Lois’s body is worth it. Funny episode:) Clark has a few interesting things go on in this episode while dealign whith Chloe/Lois *hehe* and you get the first hints about Lex being still alive.
“Eternal” is the first important episode to the story after the last one *requiem*. In this one you find out that Lex is still kicking and pissed off as well. The evolution of Lex to EVIL has been complete and he starts an all out assault on Clark and those he loves. This episode does flash back to the past quite a bit covering important parts of both Lex and Davis’s early lives. Lex decides to use Doomsday to kill Clark at the end.
Thats the best I can do off the top of my head. The next episode after “eternal” is “Stilleto” and it steps back a tiny bit from the events going on in the story (Eternal was pretty heavy) and introduces a new character. The deep plot of Lex/Doomsday is not dealt with in this episode. The new crime fighter dude in this episode just makes a very quick guest appearance for now (may be back later) and Clark gets distracted a bit.
The episode after Stilleto moves the Doomsday story forward quite a bit. It looks like Jimmy is killed right at the start of the episode, but it turns out later he is not dead. Davis/Doomsday snags Chloe and Oliver and Clark team up to rescue her. This has all been instigated by Lex who plans on killing everyone Clark cares about before finally destroying him.
I heard this gap was because of the conversion to digital. I have no clue why the heck the conversion caused the gap, but that was the reason I heard for it.
Wolfy
Thanx 4 the spoilers they were really good. But what I personally want 2 know iz who the new character iz and im sure im not the only 1 !?!?!
There are a few new characters coming up, but none of them stick around. There is Zantanna the sorceresss in one episode and in another there is Stilleto (this italian looking dude who fights with knives…kinda like bullseye in daredevil I guess but mixed with green arrow because he uses different types of knives.
Those are the only two main new characters (well I guess Linda Lake is one too, but she was in a previous episode named aqua).
Lois is only in 1 or two episodes (can’t remember off the top of my head), Lana is mentioned but doesn’t show up and you never actually see Lex although you hear from him alot (And you seem him as young Lex as well).
Most of the rest of this season deals with Clarks secret, some silly romantic stuff and Davis/Doomsday’s struggle and the effect Lex has on that struggle.
This season ends with the least bang so far in my opinion. Every other season seemed to have a pretty big cliffhanger, but in this one the cliffhanger (Jimmy croaking) is solved before the end of the episode. Perhaps they were not 100% sure they would have another season so they wanted to wrap things up just in case?
my name is the question
If they wanted to be together t would be easy, he would simply have to wear a blue kryptonite bracelet like daxor. then the green kryptonite would not harm him.
Was there not a crystal in season one are was it clarks ship that nutralised the green krytonite
But Lana is the most annoying douche bag in the show. It bviously is going to follow the Superman stories and he will HOPEFULLY end up with Lois
Was a decent episode… 8/10.. really glad they airing next episode next week instead of next month.
The whole point is that this show is superman’s life before he was superman so it has to be faithful to that. The last part of the episode is just to make a bit of drama. The writers will keep teasing us all with the fact that they almost get together and fail all the time until eventually the series will end and he’ll learn 2 fly and hook up with lois and that will be the end of it all lol
x
lol hahaha right
lol i agree …. hahaha
sum1 has finally spoken….:)
when brainiac took over her mind he undid what jor el did and unlocked her brain, jor el couldn’t do anything about it because he didn’t remove brainiac this time
lol
they are skipping weeks due to complications in making the episodes
Michael Rosenbaum is my favorite actor of the season and it is really sad that they are not using him for the rest of the season. They use the young lex actor in “Eternal” and they use a voice that is supposed to be Lex, but that explains why they don’t show him directly at all in the rest of the season.
Did the girl who plays Lana quit the show as well? She isn’t in any of the rest of the episodes either, even though she is mentioned a few times.
They tease you alot with superman flying in this season, so it does seem like he is going to fly soon. Again it looks like they may have been originally planning to end the show at the end of this season and when it got renewed for another season they switched things around a bit. Many of the episodes have to do with possible futures or are very self contained (not directly part of the story line and could be placed almost anywhere in it).
I really don’t like the whole Davis thread and honestly I’m pretty much done with the Chloe/Jimmy storyline as well. Clark/Lois is on hold for the rest of the season and while Lex is involved in some of the episodes, he doesn’t make a real apperance (no more michael).
The show is missing to many of it’s important characters. Without Lex as a direct character to play against, the show seems to be missing something. Ambigous/hidden Lex is just not the same.
Because it doesn’t air till next week:)
Hehe wait till you see the episode “Hex”
Chloes bubbling personality in Lois’s body.
heres my question:
where is the FLY FLY?!
you know with the FLYING
whats up with the whole NO FLYING policy?
is it illegal?
yh they mssing ore then 1 month not week now!
Where do you get that idea? I’ve heard several people suggest that, but I don’t think it’s true. My understanding is that the blue kryptonite removes his powers. I don’t think it turns him into a human being, just a powerless Kryptonian.
If I’m right, then he’d still be vulnerable to kryptonite.
Consider this: blue kryptonite worked when it was worn. If a kryptonian removes the blue kryptonite, he goes back to being a super-powered being.
For that to be the case, he’d have to be vulnerable to kryptonite. If blue kryptonite made him a human being (and thus immune to kryptonite), he wouldn’t have to keep wearing the blue kryptonite.
they ran out of blue kryptonite the braclet was like the last one and his ring given to him from his fake mother was distoryed. Thats what i think
LOL.
Lionel Luther is Samson Gray?
Obviously the script has flaws. I think they’ve dragged this Clark n Lana lovestory so far down a hole they’re starting to panic about the Clark n Lois. And when scriptwriters panic, we can expect something poorly thought out and poorly explained.
Agree 100%. All the b;ue does is strip his powers, it doesnt change his physiology and suddenly make him a human being from earth. After all, he wouldnt even have powers at all if he lived on krypton, but hed still be a kryptonian, not a human.
GK HAV u even watched smallville??? stop givving ur long meggage craps n trying to sho that ur a smallville diehard…..
if u remember correctly in season 7 clark was the 1 who defeated zor-el with guss wat……….kryptonite!! n guess wat…..he was wearin a blue k ring!!!…n the green k didnt harm him!!!in other cases he isnt even able to move in front of kryptonite!!
i think joshua is write n the writers r jus dumb to think that we wont notice that he could hav worn blue k
so stfu n dont leave ur wiseass comments when u dont know any f****g thing about smallville…..god ppl like u make me mad!!
YES ITS THE SAME MAN AND FOR EVERYONE WHO THINKS THIS SEASON IS STARTING TO DRIFT. YOU NEED TO REALIZE IN EVERY SEASON PRIOR THEY HAVE DONE THE SAME EXACT THING. Throw in some bs episodes then the last three are edge of your seat episodes. season ending episode clark flies and season 8 will be over for the summer
Rofl, Yeah, He did a nice job as Sylar’s father.
If he learns to fly, it is’nt Smallville anymore. That’s the final link before it would actually become Superman.
NEXT WEEK HE FLIES!!!! At least that is what it looked like in the preview after the new ep. I’m so pumped.
The creators put in place a strict no flying and no capes rule. So we’ll only get to see him fly on rare occassion like when he’s possessed like before and never ever see him in a superman costume. I dont think it would suit Tom anyways. In my opinion, he wont learn to fly until the final ever episode which is hopefully a long long way away, and my guess is that it’ll end with him holding up the superman costume or just rubbing his hands over a freshly sewn “S” logo.
Rant over
idk y clark keeps sayin tht he cant fly in season 1 he was flew over his bed nd crashed nd in the 1st ep in season 2 he flew 2 save lana nd in the beginning of season 4 he was flying
Hes not there for a reason…hes the director for this season so he would not play his character and will not until next season. With Lana, she didn’t quit, shes still in the show.
Duh u can watch it on here. u kno d website ur already on… lol
then why do you still watch it?
oh its only 12th for this site
Yes, but he saved cloe in the legion. And in history cloe didn’t survive. And so history changed when he saved her from death, if he hadn’t he would have learned to fly.
just watched the episode. no fly fly
aaaaah so sylar is julian! things make sense now!
weeel aslong as he can fly
I can confirm that he never actually “fly’s” for the rest of the season, but they tease you with it…even in the next episode.
They put the lois/clark thing on hold (As you saw already in this episode) and leave it there as well except for a few funny parts like in Hex.
I havn’t heard anything at all about season 9 though, so I have no clue if he flies in episode 2. He does not fly “like superman in the movies/comics” though this season.
how do u kno? the legion people said it MIGHT have been what caused him to take flight. besides they even hinted at the fact that she might have changed her name to keep her safe.
oh okay i got this.
in the credits where clark is flying, he was “reborn” as jor el put it. i think this is an episode at the beginning of the 4th season. clark gets transformed by his dad into kal-el, where he completely accepts his kryptonian heratige, and his dad teaches him to fly. when he is flying he is actually tracking down a piece of the ccrystal that comes together with 2 other pieces that makes his fortress. its all very confusing if u dont watch the episodes =D.
tbh i dont really care about the whole lois, clark, lana love connection. i just think it wud be awshome if he would learn to fly. would save some time at least =D
A lot of things are re-imagined, but that happens a lot with Superman. It’s sort of a tradition.
The movies weren’t consistent with the original (1938) Superman, either. Superman was much more limited, originally. An “explosive mortar shell” could take him out. Kryptonite didn’t exist (until the radio show). He couldn’t fly (that’s why he leaped tall buildings in a single bound). There was no significance to the color of the sun, and so on.
Superman has changed over the years, mainly because there have been so many writers. Lois has changed, too. The Lois we see here is nothing like the Lois depicted in 1938…and Lois’ appearance has even changed within the comics. For some strange reason she’s attractive when she’s not Superman’s main squeeze, and then more homely when she is. It’s weird.
My advice is to not bother trying to reconcile the comics to Smallville to Lois & Clark to the movies. It’s not going to work. It was never intended to work that way. Enjoy each for what they are. If you have to, consider them alternate universes.
how bout no? let lex live! no point of a super hero without a super villian!
There are so many things wrong with that.
1. Since when has Jor-El cared about anything but Clark accepting his destiny? He’d really have to be talked into helping Lana, and that, I think would be a hard sell. Not impossible, mind you…just a hard sell.
2. Give Clark a ring that protects him from Kryptonite? What, you want to turn Clark into a god? Clark has two weaknesses. One is caring about other people. He needs/wants to protect people, and that can be used against him. “Do what I want, or ___ dies”. The other is kryptonite. Take away that, and the only weakness he has left is the fact that he’s not a sociopath. Not a good idea. You need to keep kryptonite being a threat because it helps make things interesting. If a villian like Lex has kryptonite, Clark has to think a bit more than he would if he could handle the situation with brute force alone. It also gives him the opportunity for sacrifice. It’s more interesting and more impressive when a character can say “You saved me! You could have been killed!” rather than “Haha those idiots never had a chance.”
3. One has to be very careful when using time travel, whether it’s Jor-El doing it or the Legion’s ring. It’s too easy to abuse, and leads to the audience feeling cheated. Actions have consequences and it’s frankly rather lame if the hero of the story has an “undo” or “do over” button to use every time something goes wrong. Life doesn’t work like that, and it’s more interesting when heroes have to deal with the consequences of their mistakes, because that’s what we have to do when we make mistakes.
Time travel is easy to get wrong, too. Logically, one cannot go back in time to deliberately change something, because doing so would eliminate the reason for going back in time in the first place.
Example: You want to go back in time to 1865 to tell Lincoln that he really should have guards outside his booth at the Ford Theatre and that anyone who wants to visit with him should be searched and disarmed. Lincoln is convinced and makes the change. He’s not assasinated. Fast forward to 2009. Since he was not assasinated, you have no reason to go back in time to prevent the assasination, so you don’t. Since you didn’t, the changes are not made, and he gets assasinated. Welcome to the predestination paradox.
Now, if you went back in time to be a witness to history (ie: you just wanted to see 1865), and somehow accidentally set a sequence of events in motion that lead to John Wilkes Booth being killed or captured before the assasination can take place, that’s different…because when we fast forward to 2009, you still have a reason to go back to 1865 (to see it for yourself). The predestination paradox is avoided. Of course, it’s hard to predict what else changed. If the genius who discovered how to go back in time was killed or never born because of this mishap in time, you land right back in the paradox. If this leads to changes in the story of your ancestors (they moved, they never met, they were killed), you may not have ever been born. Time travel is not to be trifled with.
4. Jimmy and Chloe move to Australia? What does that accomplish, besides keeping Jimmy Olsen away from his traditional job at the Daily Planet?
5. Clark kills Lex? Others have already noted that Lex is too good a villian to kill like that. Just as Superman needs kryptonite, Superman needs Lex…just to have an arch nemesis to keep him on his toes and keep the story interesting. Further, Superman has a rule against killing people. He may be alright with killing Brainiac (he’s a machine), but he has been very clear that he will not (deliberately) kill. Clark killing Lex would be wrong, therefore, on at least two levels.
ROTFLMFAO!!!! That’s so funny, the whole Lex/Sylar brother deal!!! (The actor playing Sylar is also Spock on the new Star Trek![Is that boy on Heroes who was telling Sylar about Sylar's father, his brother?]) But did you guys notice John Glover’s teeth on “Shades of Gray?” Ugh!!! And why didn’t he just snatch Sylar’s healing ability, he could have easily done it? That whole episode was a let down, because I was expecting some epic battle between father and son and that BS transpired instead!!! But let’s talk about him on Smallville for a sec. I always figured that the writers would somehow make the episode in which he died a “what if” scenario. I mean, did they really let Lex get away with murder like that? With both Luthers now gone from the show, it is indeed missing a vital piece. And oh my God, if they don’t stop screwing around with the Clark/Lois love affair!!! But let us not forget people, CLARK KENT DOES MARRY LOIS LANE in the end. It seems that people start to sometimes worry and fret over things that may be awry in the Smallville series, but forget that these things are set in stone within the Superman storyline. Clark WILL fly, Clark WILL marry Lois, and Doomsday WILL kill him (of course he’ll come back to life, but it happens). But I can’t wait to see what happens in the future! And oh yeah, how do you guys know that there will be a season nine? A link would be greatly appreciated!
AND WHAT PRIZE DO WE HAVE FOR CAPTAIN OBVIOUS HERE BOB?!
My sentiments exactly!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I just read your comment, but I JUST mentioned that above on another comment!!! It’s as if these people are unfamiliar with the true Smallville (Superman)!
This isn’t exactly the same doomsday from the comics.
doomsday never kills superman.if you see the cartoon mivie of superman doomsday you will see that superman comes back to life.the same happens in the comic ‘the death of super man’. so according to the comics how superman dies isnt revealed yet.
It should not happen on the show.
As you said, Doomsday “kills” (not really, but it looks that way) Superman in the comics.
He does not kill Superboy. He kills Superman.
Since Clark is not Superman yet, he should not kill Clark in this show.
She could use WHAT!!! Clarify your spelling.
I agree, that whole proposed storyline was BS!!!
Ha ha, the runs!!!? That’s so funny!
Lol…it was a kryptonite solution (water infused by kryptonite rocks) meant tomake you relieve early memories. Originally it was intended to get back Lex’s early memories if I remember right.
Anyway Clark didn’t ingest the liquid and it was probably just slightly stronger then being near a metoer rock (or having it placed on his chest for instance. It caused him to have massive convulsions though and a ton of pain.
So yeah, krypto could kill him if he was exposded long enough.
yea it can kill him but once he dies the kryptonite neutralizes n he comes bac to life it happened in one of the previous series’s
Lex knows everything about clark, but he is damaged or something because you never actually see him, just hear his voice (at least as adult lex).
I guess they might wipe his memory in the future or something and bring back normal lex, but for now he absolutely HATES clark and is out to ruin his life and after he has lost everything (like Lex has) kill him.
Clark told Lana his secret and she was dead within 24 hours. He turned back time to save her but that ended up costing his father life.
Then Clark told Lois his secret (in this episode) and had her tell the world. It ended up ruining everyone he cares abouts life, having the US government after him and preventing him from saving people.
Now what he should have done was leave the whole “alien” thing out of it and just gone with being a meteor freak. That may have ended up with a whole different result, but of course then we would never have the traditional superman with two identities.
Anyway he is a bit gun shy about revealing his secret to people he loves at this point because it doesn’t seem to end very well. In fact everyone he has told his secret to has been hurt by it.
His original friend (forget his name) had to move away because carring the secret was to much for him and he told clark he wish that he had never been told.
Chloe almost died and Clark even tried to erase the memory of his secret from her mind to save her already.
Lex discovered the secret even though Clark was trying to keep it from him. After which his attitude towards clark changed drastically and now he hates him.
So basically telling his secret to people has not worked that well in the past….heh.
thanx 4 the info but FYI romantic stuff isnt silly lol
no they both moved on to better things or so they claim… kristen kreuk is doing movies now liek jher street fighter movie and micheal is trying to move into movies or thats what the plan was.. how ever i hope he comes back for season 9 and lana can jsut stay gone as she is jsut a usless and anoyign char ne more i got sick of her around season 5 more season 6
if it will kill him after they take it away maybe he will start healing
I just want to know when clark learns to fly!!!!!!!!!!! Its killing me! please tell me
Well if you think back everytime Clark was stripped of his powers he was immune to the green kryptonite, it makes sense that he will be immune if he wears blue kryptonite. When he has his powers the yellow sun helps him heal. In my opinion maybe kryptonite has something to do with the yellow sun and its effects on Clark.
That’s happened in the comics, where he died from kryptonite exposure, and some time later, his body had healed and he came back to the living.
well we already know it can kill him! do you remember when he inhaled the krypto spores from the cellar? He had almost died until the ship had saved him with its amazing white light of healing lol
I thought of that too, and I have a couple thoughts beyond “that’s stupid”.
1. The writers probably wanted to delay that relationship until the Superman days.
2. Clark probably isn’t ready for a relationship. Now he does not have to imagine what what would happen if people found out his secret. He’s always imagined that his enemies would go after those he cared about in order to get to him. Now he’s seen just how that would happen.
Logically he does not have to tell Lois “I’m the red blue blur” to date her. In fact, in other incarnations, that is exactly what happens. Then again, there are incarnations where Clark wants to date her, but Lois is not only in love with Superman, but thinks Clark is a wimp.
I think this Clark’s decision was an emotional one rather than a purely logical one. He’s seen how badly things can go wrong. He wants to protect the people he cares about. In short, he’s afraid to get too close to Lois.
If he gets into a relationship with her, all those “Uhm, I gotta go to the bathroom. NOW.” moments could be under a higher powered microscope. It’s no longer about a flaky coworker. It’s about a lover. “Where is he going? Who is he with? Is he cheating on me?” She may even discover Clark’s secret by accident, like Chloe did.
These could be things that are running through Clark’s head, and he’ll need time to sort through them to decide whether or not dating someone is worth the risk.
I’ll admit that they left it totally up to us to put these thoughts into his head.
It is incredibly stupid of him not to go have SOME COFFEE with Lois, but on the other hand, Lois is supposed to be Supermans lady, not Clarks. And since there isn’t Superman yet and only the Red Blue Blur, they have to wait on that relationship. What I don’t understand is why the writers are having Lois be into him. It has always been that Superman is right in front of Lois throwing himself at her, it’s just the shirt and tie version, which she isn’t to familiar with. This story line is different, but not bad-different, it’s just change which is kinda refreshing in a way.
They pretty much had to. This was, more or less, a “what if?” story.
You can’t have the story of Superman if everyone knows that Superman is Clark Kent. Especially not if someone stoked the fears of an alien invasion.
He will, in time. I think he just needs to learn how to be two people (Superman and Clark) first. I think this is just delaying the relationship until he’s “grown up”.
As for Davis, I kind of like his lack of knowledge. It’s much more interesting to have an enemy around that is powerful enough to be a threat and whose whereabouts are unknown. I like that better than Clark going “Oh, it’s Davis” and rushing to fight Davis.
There’s a lot more storytelling potential by keeping Clark in the dark. We get to see Davis struggle. We get to see Doomsday develop and get stronger until the day that the Superman vs. Doomsday battle takes place. We get a longer story.
If they speed it up, they get to use Doomsday less, and we lose too…because Superman is too powerful a character to find common criminals a challenge, and what fun is any story without the hero being challenged? Nobody would watch Smallville if it was “Superman saves another kitten in a tree” every week.
Not yet, he isn’t.
I do watch Smallville, but I don’t remember everything perfectly. That’s why I included the words “If I’m right”. It sounds like “Blue” is an episode worth reviewing.
Reading about that episode, though, brings up another interesting point: that ring was destroyed when the blue crystal was destroyed.
For the “Why wouldn’t Clark wear blue kryptonite” solution to work, he’d first have to have some. Given that it has only made an appearance a handful of times, it’s probably a rare form of kryptonite. If Clark did not have any, it could not be a solution.
Besides, using blue kryptonite would go against his destiny, a destiny which he has finally accepted.
As for people like me making you mad, well, that’s not my problem. Have fun with that.
After reviewing “Blue”, it seems you’re right. Clark did handle green kryptonite with his bare hands while he had that ring on.
Assuming that was not a mistake on the part of the writers…that throws a monkey wrench into my logic. Bummer. I like my logic better than their writing.
Still, we haven’t seen nearly as much blue kryptonite in the show as we have seen green.
Right. This is a re-imagined Doomsday.
You might be thinking of Season 2.
Putting the key into the ship released a healing ray that healed Martha Kent and cured her infertility. It also neutralized Lana’s meteor rock necklace, & cured both Martha and Clark of kryptonite spores.
Clark put a kryptonite copy of the key into the ship, and destroyed the ship. Therefore he can’t use it to neutralize the kryptonite in Lana.
Oliver is a complete cold blooded killer anyway.
You wrote this one, didn’t you?
Why? We already have that movie. Why do we need a remake?
I’d prefer they make something original.
Wow u really thought the details through didnt u GK but i say even if he doesnt want to get in a relationship and be in those sticky situations i still think he should have go and talk to her since he knows dat she thinks she’s not special. His not being there just proved to her wat she told him when he left her for three hours in d airport earlier in d episode ‘that he has no time for her, not even to pause from his ‘busy work’ to have coffee with her
well chloe really didnt stumble across knowing his secret she was more or less forced into it by clarks teleporting ex-lover
haha good point
he’ll start wearing glasses within the next couple episodes I mean thats his mask its just instead of superman wearing them clark will
You’re right.
Obviously people are thinking “What are you thinking, Clark? Go for it!”
Personally, I like that he “has issues” like this. Flawed heroes are more interesting, I think, because we’re flawed. If Clark was too perfect, there would be nothing to relate to.
Can we relate to being nervous about going on a date? Can we relate to being afraid that you’ll say the wrong thing and screw everything up? Can we relate to being afraid of taking a relationship past friendship and into romance, because it might fall to pieces and ruin the friendship?
We have the benefit of being omniscient. We know that Lois & Clark will get together, fall in love, be a “Super” couple, and so on. We’re familiar with the story. Clark is not. He thought he was going to be with Lana forever. He lost her. She came back. She even became his equal. He lost her again. She was a victim because of Clark. Will bringing Lois closer make her a victim too? He doesn’t know.
Heck, this might even be perfect, story wise. Traditionally, Clark has to work hard to get Lois to be interested in him. She loves Superman, and dismisses Clark as a weak bumbler. Maybe this is how Clark gets knocked down a peg or three so that the traditional Clark/Lois relationship can have its rocky start.
According to the Smallville Wiki: March 19, which is this Thursday. It looks like we’ll be on a standard weekly schedule for the next 3 episodes.
Turbulence: 3/19
Hex: 3/26
Eternal: 4/2
Skip 2 weeks
Stiletto: 4/23
Beast: 4/30
Injustice: 5/7
Doomsday: 5/14 (end of season
ugh – stupid smiley face.
That was supposed to say “(end of season 8 )
i dont think its just the end of the season i think this is the last one the end of the series!
Actually in the “real Superman”, Lois falls in love with Superman, while Clark wants her to love him for who he is (Clark) rather than what he does (Superman). Eventually, she does come to love Clark, and discover that Clark = Superman.
If that happens in Smallville, it happens before he is Superman, and thus too early. Of course, I don’t know that they have to make their story consistent with the movies, Lois & Clark or the comics. It looks like they have plenty of artistic license, since Doomsday’s story in Smallville is significantly different than what it is in the comics.
In the comics, Doomsday doesn’t have an alter ego and is not related to General Zod. He’s a Kryptonian creation which ended up buried in Earth after his last defeat. When he escapes his prison, he makes his way to Metropolis. The only superhero that can go toe to toe with him is Superman (the Justice League does its best, but is outmatched). They (Supes and Doomsday) fight to what is thought to be their deaths, and Doomsday is sent off into outer space in a trajectory that’s supposed to avoid other planets.
Clearly, that’s not the same story that Smallville is telling, and that’s okay. I wouldn’t worry too much about Lois & Clark getting together in Smallville. Maybe they will, maybe they won’t…but I don’t think they’re restricted by the other incarnations of Superman.
Clark Kent in Smallville is nothing like the Clark Kent in the movies or comics and I don’t see how he ever could be made that way. He is a Hero in his own right with everyone looking up to him, trusting him etc. Look at the relationship between him and Jimmy for instance compared to in other incarnations of Superman.
There is no way simple glasses would throw people off from this Clark Kent being superman (of course it was always silly that it would work at all). In fact in the smallville universe is a Superman showed up in metropolis and anyone did any research at all on possible people who could be superman, Clark Kent who has saved countless people in smallville and been seen at tons of crime scenes etc (As previous sherrifs have noted) would be the #1 suspect.
I don’t think it is possible for a traditional superman role to work, but perhaps a slightly altered version could be used. The whole “red-blue blur” thing really let them overcome his heroic reputation as clark but still act as superman. Without that I don’t see how they could keep to the primary story of superman at all.
If I understand this right Superman is powered by the sun. When he does not have direct contact with sunlight (or is in another solar system etc) his powers weaken. Even if he is underground for long enough they would weaken as well.
Kryptonite has many effects on him depending on the type, but green kryptonight has two primary effects in addition to causing him pain.
First it instantly prevents him from using his powers. His super strength, speed, sight, hearing etc are all gone instantly when he is exposed to green kryptonight radiation.
Second it drains his solar battery. The longer he is exposed to kryptonight the weaker he becomes and only the suns rays can help him regain his strength once the kryptonite is removed.
Now it is possible that krypto will not kill him by itself no mater how long he is exposed to it, it will just drain his battery completely and leave him vulnerable to anything else killing him.
Also you could in theory drain him completely with krypto and then bury him etc where the sun will not reach him. Until he was exposed to the sun he would remain in a coma/totally weak.
One thing I always thought funny about superman is….why doesn’t he create a led based suit? Led protects him completely from the effects of kryptonite and he is more then strong enough to walk around with a suit made out of led on. This would in effect make him absolutely invulnerable to normal human beings since his greatest weakness would be avoided.
Exactly, smallville can not follow the traditional superman story because of that.
Also Lois has already dated the Green Arrow (and knows who he is now) so she already has a super hero complex. This Lois would never date (or fall in love) with a Superman that she does not know the identity of.
Finally even in this episode you see Lois put the pieces together when he tells her about being the red-blue blur. The barn door being blown off, him showing up and dissapearing all the time etc. Unlike in traditional superman Clark does not wait till he is no longer being watched to “take off”. He has repeatedly zoomed away from lois in many episodes and if Superman suddenly showed up (even wearing a mask) I think she would figure it out.
Don’t forget that Clark already admitted to impersinating the Green Arrow to throw Lois off. She may not have put the pieces together (although I think her character actually would have….but for plot reasons she has not) but if Superman showed up in the smallville universe it would totally be game over (again even if he wore a mask).
I don’t want to spoil anything but Doomsdays character evolves alot throughout the rest of this season. Much like clark was supposed to go through transformations and have a new personality, Davis is supposed to do the same thing. There are 3 big key episoded that deal with that coming up.
While it may not be the exact same story as the comics, it does fit pretty well with the story I think. They make a few changes here or there, but it adds a TON to the character as you see him transform from Davis, to davis fighting against becoming doomsday, to the beast (doomsday that still has davis’s emotions and desires but filled with rage) and finally into Doomsday himself..the ultimate weapon.
I thought they did a great job with that story line.
That future never happens Jono because Clark went back in time and changed the events that led up to it.
Then he destroyed the ring because he thought it was too powerfull. That makes sense since pretty much it solves any possible problem that could come up. If you can go back in time as much as you want, then there is nothing you can’t deal with especially with Clarks abilities.
He’s not supposed to be a member of the JL when he first becomes Superman, so again this can’t follow the traditional story since he has already worked with the JL on more then one occasion and might already be considered a member at this point.
In many ways Smallville has actually replaced “Superman” with “The Red-Blue-Blur” since many of the things he should not do until he is already superman are happening now.
Courting lois, fighting with the JLA, fighting against Lex and defeating him repeatedly etc.
yea and i liek that they arent follow it and making smallville end where the movie would have began .. i mean realyl smallville woulda ended years ago had it been that way no lois at all no zod no braniac no doomsday no green arrow cyborg aquaman flash none of them so that puts us back to season friggen 3…. lol yup they are doin this right by making it a whole new universe imo
In the comic books there has been an issue where he had a lead suit, very good point tho!
im pretty sure that ive seen an episode where clark is getting exposed to kryptonite, but he still manages to smack someone half way across a very big room!
lead is not invulnerable, so as long as something could hit it, they could break the lead, thus making him vulnerable again… the tricky part would be hitting him, but ol’ lexxy seems to be able to pull off pretty much anything
That wont be the last time you will hear about The Legion or their rings, I’m sure future episodes will have more about the Legion in them…
This obviously deviates from the comic series… unless the legion returns, he’s out of luck working with them again. Just too many detours from the original…
Dude plz stop ur really killing me.
Except for unintended consequences…but that could lead to a Groundhog day/Butterfly Effect type series, where Clark was trying to fix a certain day over…and over…and over…I imagine that would get old pretty fast.
naaah i think it would look better if superman wore the glasses, or at least some sort of goggles =D
season 3; episode 6; title: relic.. hope that helps
Ohh finaly someone answered da question i hav been coming here since wen for tanks GK however delayed it was.
I just hope dat Clark (Hott Clark) gets a brain and stop running away from Lois in da episodes 2 com. Smallvile rocks.
And wolfy can u plz stop literally talking d show out. Love ur comments just not ur spoilers.
Later guys see ya next week.
Sorry Tiff, They asked for them above and I thought I marked all of them but sometimes I forget. I will be more careful.
because it would tie up smallville and lead tom welling perfectly into future big screen movies as superman, basically smallville has just been expanded from the section of young clark in the original movie, the tv series of smallville has been filled with loads of links to the original movie and it would be a nod to christopher reeves. who gave his blessing to tom welling. and you can not beat the first time you see superman as superman in the original film saving lois catching the helicopter, is it a hoax is it real pricesless, and with modern day effects it would look smallville in content and original.
wat do they call it? since there’s like super-man 1-3 and superman returns..”Smallville?” the shows are already an hour long and a movie is like an hour and thirty
in it
I know, right. He was right there and he saw how much she liked him and he pulled a move like that… Sad. Yet, it was a really good episode to watch.
Man are you crazy or just blind . He has honor !
He is SUPERMAN ! So just you go and slap some Ho’s and let him kick your ass !
hAhaha lol ownd
That’s really smart… and useful -_-”
I think that the whole ’swamped with work’ illustrates that clark finally sees lois differently. I think he is finally starting to see her more than just a friend
lana wasnt even in this episode! but yes she is pretty. i love her hair, clothes, face, personality, everything! shes awesome
The third video its working.
