   when people investigate clarks secret/powers they are portrayed as the bad guys but when clark investigates other peoples secrets/powers he is portrayed as the helpful good guy

     There is a perfectly reasonable and logical explaination for that. When they invesitage, they usually wanna blow him up, impale him with space rocks, use him as a boy toy(w00t), or just generally hurt him or use him to hurt others. When HE does it… It’s to just usually squash them if they wanna do any of the above.
