Well, he isn’t really superhuman, but that’s what makes him special. He is just a normal human being(with a lot of money and gear). Sort of saying that anyone can be a hero, in my opinion.

Actually, I’d disagree with jack, but I’ll also disagree with the rest of you all. This episode did have a lot of action in it. And it was cool. But it was by far NOT the best episode in my opinion.
You are correct. He’s supposed to be flash as a young person. I believe they used the name of the 4th incarnation of Flash. I haven’t quite figured out if the series is attempting to make him out as the first. It would seem so as his explanation of how he became so fast. I think since Bart uses the other incarnation’s names as aliases, the series may be trying to side step this. But.. it’s not a series about flash.. so I guess it really doesn’t matter that much.
In one version of the comics, he’s also the first super hero to fight crime poor. At some point he looses his fortune and continues his fight on the streets.
I believe he also looses an arm in a fight. But I don’t recall the details on that.
Green arrow is a batman type character. Not a rip off exactly. His character was constructed from the Batman template. It was intentional. There’s even the perspective that Green arrow looks up to batman. And some of the choices he’s made on how he fights crime, he (the character) models them after batman. It’s been suggested batman and the green arrow have met. Or maybe even friends.
You can find evidence for all of this in the comics and from looking on fan sites. Even the providers. So.. yeah. He’s not batman, but he’s close enough. I’d say they are bang on, but that’s my opinion.
except hes not the flash, he’s impulse, impulse was the flashes sidekick (then called kidflash) in the comics, when he went solo he became impulse who has exactly the same powers, this is similar to how they chose green arrow instead of batman, they wish to focus on the less well known heroes rather than the more famous ones such as batman, wonderwoman, the flash and green lantern.
WRONG,Arrow is(besides being rich and having no powers)nothing like Bats. He’s more simular to the heroes with powers,take away that one thing and they’re helpless(in his case the bow & arrows). The closest hero I can think of(besides Hawkeye)is Ironman. Both rich wise-crackers who uses gadgets, the only difference is Arrow’s gadgets are in his arrows and Ironman’s is his power suit.

Superman was called boy scout when he was younger like Flash is impulse. Superman is given to him by Lois, well in the few things I’ve seen
and that ironman would beat his sorry ass so much up he had to be carried away in a jar
